IT Specialist

Guyana Port Inc. is hiring a full-time IT Specialist at its Lot 12 Support Public Road facility, East Bank Demerara. The role covers network infrastructure, PLC-based control systems and Teledyne PDS hydrographic software across the port’s three operational sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network infrastructure across three port sectors
• Manage Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) used in port operations
• Support Teledyne PDS survey software
• Administer Windows Server and Active Directory
• Troubleshoot hardware and implement cybersecurity protocols
• Manage IT asset inventory, data backups and IP camera systems
• Provide technical support to administrative staff

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or Industrial Automation
• Three to five years of hands-on IT support experience
• Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
• Maritime or industrial IT experience preferred
