Job Description
The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security, through the Support to Safety Net and Gender Empowerment in Guyana Project (GY-G1011, financed by the IDB and the Government of Canada), is seeking an Individual Consultant to serve as a First Responder. The consultant will provide immediate on-site response and evaluation for individuals at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation or harm, ensuring their safety and arranging necessary follow-up support. Duration: twelve (12) months with the possibility of renewal. Flexible hours are required, including nights (4pm to 12am or 12am to 8am) and weekend on-call shifts. Selection method: QCNI, in accordance with IDB policy GN-2350-15.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or a related field with at least two (2) years’ experience working with vulnerable populations in a social work or human services setting; OR a Diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or a related discipline with a minimum of three (3) years’ such experience
- Training in gender-based violence prevention and response is an asset
