About the Company

The Bank of Guyana is the country’s central bank. It was established in 1965 and is located at the corner of Church Street and Avenue of the Republic in Georgetown.

The Bank issues Guyana’s currency, conducts monetary policy and open market operations, and manages the national payments system. It also supervises and regulates banks, insurance companies, pension plans and other financial institutions.

The Bank of Guyana recruits for roles in economics, banking supervision, finance, information technology and administration.
