Electrician

Quality Companies (QUALCO Guyana) is seeking an Electrician with experience in the installation, commissioning, start up and maintenance of electrical equipment, devices and electrical automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis and repair of electrical and instrument systems
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, symbols and system diagrams
• Mount motors, transformers and lighting fixtures, and complete circuits to diagram specifications
• Replace faulty switches, sockets and other electrical components, and troubleshoot circuits
• Assist with maintenance and repair of medium and low voltage VFDs and reduced voltage starters
• Assist with installing, testing and maintaining emergency shutdown systems
• Install, terminate and band cables in line with regulatory requirements
• Provide daily status updates to the Senior Electrical Technician

Requirements/Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an Electrician
• Knowledge of power distribution, MCC and switchgear, PLC panel wiring and basic PLC operation
• Familiarity with mechanical and rotating equipment used in oil and gas production
• Strong electrical and electronic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Flexibility to work 8 to 12+ hour shifts, overtime, standby, rotating on-call and holidays
• Valid driver’s licence and acceptable driving record
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally and work onshore and offshore in all conditions
