Civil Engineer

Guyana Shore Base Inc. (GYSBI), the primary onshore logistics and support hub for Guyana’s offshore oil and gas operations, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support the design, construction supervision and maintenance of its facilities at McDoom, East Bank Demerara.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide civil and structural engineering design for new facilities, warehouses and infrastructure
• Supervise construction works and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards
• Conduct structural assessments and maintenance planning for existing facilities
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), technical specifications and tender documents
• Manage contractors and subcontractors on civil works projects
• Liaise with government agencies, including the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority and local authorities
• Ensure compliance with Guyana’s environmental and building regulations

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 4 years’ post-qualification experience in civil/structural engineering
• Experience in industrial or oil and gas onshore facility design strongly preferred
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar design software
• Strong project management and contractor supervision skills
• Registration with the Engineering Institute of Guyana or equivalent is an advantage
