Assistant Crane Operator

El Dorado Offshore is hiring Assistant Crane Operators to support offshore operations in Guyana. The role helps the Crane Operator carry out safe, efficient lifting and cargo handling and supports the Roustabout team with daily deck work. This is a senior crew position with responsibility for lifting safety, company procedures, client requirements and offshore safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for your own safety and your crew’s, including lockout/tagout procedures
• Confirm lifts are within load limits and properly rigged, and colour code lifting gear before use
• Inspect slings, cables, straps and the crane structure before lifts
• Operate the crane to hoist materials to the rig and to vessels when the Crane Operator is absent, and assist with rig moves
• Organise, plan and monitor Roustabout work and stay in radio contact during crane operations
• Confirm with the OIM and boat captain that sea and weather conditions are safe for loading and unloading
• Orient new Roustabouts on helicopter safety, high noise areas, safety equipment, lifeboat assignments and alarms
• Perform preventive crane maintenance and keep crane record books current
• Follow the Permit to Work system and attend pre-tour, post-tour and weekly safety meetings

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid TBOSIET with CA-EBS and current medical certification
• Minimum three years as a certified Crane Operator Assistant
• Offshore experience preferred
• Current Offshore Crane Operator Stage 3 certification
• Able to work over open water and at heights
