Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) is Guyana’s national water and sewerage utility, responsible for providing safe, reliable, and affordable water services to homes, businesses, schools, and communities across the country. Established in 2002 through the merger of the Guyana Water Authority (GUYWA) and the Georgetown Sewerage and Water Commissioners (GS&WC), GWI serves more than 145,000 customers and operates an extensive network of water treatment plants, wells, and sewerage systems. The company is committed to improving public health, supporting sustainable economic development, and expanding access to potable water in both coastal and hinterland communities throughout Guyana.
