Crime Reporter

Guyana Times Inc. – one of Guyana’s largest and most established media houses – is seeking a full-time Crime Reporter to join its dynamic newsroom.

The successful candidate will monitor local, national, and international daily events; coordinate with the news editor and fellow reporters to develop story ideas; arrange interviews with relevant sources; review and evaluate field notes for accuracy; research background information; collaborate with editors to improve story presentation; and attend daily editorial and staff meetings.

Requirements:

– Strong command of the English language

– Minimum 5 CSEC subjects with Grades I–II in English and Literature (a university degree is an asset)

– Computer literacy including Microsoft Office proficiency

– Highly motivated self-starter

– Willingness to work flexible hours

– Media experience is an advantage
