About the Company

Established on January 27, 2000, through the amalgamation of the Inland Revenue and Customs & Excise Departments, the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) stands as a cornerstone in Guyana’s fiscal landscape. This transformative initiative, guided by the Tax Act, marked a pivotal moment in enhancing tax administration and service delivery to the Republic of Guyana.

Over the years, GRA has undergone a continuous evolution, expanding its operations, fortifying infrastructure, and enhancing technical capabilities. Two landmark initiatives, the introduction of the Value Added Tax (VAT) and the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), have been instrumental in providing greater control and monitoring of tax-related activities, both locally and on the global stage.

In tandem with these initiatives, GRA has implemented cutting-edge data management software programs such as TRIPS and the recently introduced ASYCUDA. These technological advancements, coupled with major tax programs, have propelled the organization forward, ensuring efficiency in tax administration and surpassing revenue targets.
