About the Company

Banks DIH Ltd. originated from a 1840s rum business founded by Jose Gomes D’Aguiar, which later expanded into liquor stores. After facing financial difficulties, Peter D’Aguiar took over in 1934 and refocused the company on soft drink and rum manufacturing. Over the years, it acquired the first Coca-Cola franchise in South America and merged with Banks Breweries to become the first publicly traded company in Guyana. Today, Banks DIH operates across various sectors, including soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, food products, and owns a controlling share in Citizens Bank Inc.
