Internal Auditor

Demerara Life Group of Companies (Demerara Mutual / Demerara Fire and General) is seeking a fully qualified ACCA professional to join its Management Team as Internal Auditor.

Job Description / Responsibilities:
Conduct audits in accordance with the approved audit plan; Ensure audits are completed timely and effectively in line with professional auditing standards; Review internal control systems and procedures to ensure adequacy, effectiveness, and compliance with statutory requirements, accounting standards, and company policies.

Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification: ACCA (fully qualified); Audit Experience in the Insurance Industry preferred (insurance qualifications would be an asset).

Personal Qualities:
High level of integrity, confidentiality, honesty, and professional ethics; Strong attention to detail and ability to identify risks and control weaknesses; Ability to communicate findings clearly and prepare well-structured audit reports; Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally; Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications; Organized, self-motivated, and committed to professional development.
